Show Soft Elegance with Country Curtains

Country curtains are made in a number of different patterns and styles.  The different combinations can give a room or house a simple homely look or an elegant look.

The patterns country curtains are made with are country related decorating prints.  The typical colors are darker pastels like blue, red, olive green, pale yellow and dull pink.

Country curtain patterns usually have a variety of roses, patchwork, plaid, cherries, quilted look, stripes, or daisies.  Old world lace, vintage and homespun fabrics are used often.  For fancier country curtains lace and/or ruffles are added. These are usually accompanied by tiers or valences.

The more elegant curtains often are a solid pattern with some embroidery. The different ways to combine these fabrics and patterns that resemble a country look are numerous.  Country curtains can be made to look old-time or a modern country look.

Some country curtains are made with heavier fabrics which makes them hang better and blocks more light.  Often these type of curtains are not meant to be drawn.  Lighter and sheer fabrics are also used when more light is needed.
